Shahino Mah Abdullah
Shahino Mah Abdullah completed his B.Sc. and PhD degrees in Physics from the University of Malaya. He joined Department of Physics (UM) as a research assistant since 2011 and then served as postdoctoral research fellow in 2016. His scientific research interests encompass fabrication of organic semiconducting devices including solar cells, field-effect transistors, and smart sensors. Currently, he is a Research Fellow at the International Institute of Advanced Islamic Studies (IAIS) Malaysia, with interest in Science, Technology, Environment and Ethics. With a focus discussion on the Islamic principle of environmental preservation (hifz al-bi‘ah), an advanced component in maqasid al-shari‘ah (the higher objective of Shariah), he seeks to promote valuable lessons collected from the Islamic scriptures, historical events, and reliable scholars that support ‘sustainable community development’ agenda for the betterment of global society in the future.
