Donations Policy

The IAIS accepts donations from all bona fide sources, personal as well as corporate, local as well as international. These funds help us continue our research to advance the renewal of the Islamic civilisation, its harmonious co-existence with other world civilisations, and the cause of peace and justice for all. IAIS Malaysia seeks to promote moderation as a governing principle of Islamic teachings that shuns all forms of extremism and hard line interpretations of Islam. It is also committed to inter-civilisational dialogue. While we are open to suggestions on possible new areas of research, as an independent, non-profit NGO, we can only accept funds with “no strings attached.” All “substantial” donors – donors of more than RM 450,000.00 or an equivalent amount in euros – will receive (upon request) copies of the annual report. “Significant” donors – those contributing RM 5,000,000.00 (five million ringgit) or more, for three consecutive years – will be entitled, in addition to receiving copies of the annual report, to a representative on the Board of Directors. In all other cases – “ordinary donors” – the amount (and frequency) of the donation is up to the discretion of the donor. Receipts will be issued for all donations of RM 5,000.00 or more. Donations are tax deductible. Our pledge is that your contributions will only be used to realise the objectives of the Institute as indicated in our vision and mission statements.
