Speaker: Dr Fuad Sha'ban
Dr Fuad Sha’ban is currently a Professor at the English Department, the University of Petra, Amman, Jordan and a Vice President of Yarmouk Private University, Syria. A graduate of Damascus University, Syria he obtained his PhD from Duke University, Durham, North Carolina. He has held academic and administrative positions in both the Arab world and the USA. Among his several publications are Islam and the Arabs in Early American Thought: the Roots of Orientalism in America and For Zion’s Sake: the Judeo-Christian Tradition in American Culture. Dr Sha’ban has received many recognitions and awards, including the Zarqa University Award for the most outstanding book published during the past three years on the Arab-Zionist conflict.
