Moderator: Professor Dr. Mohammad Hashim Kamali, Founding Chairman & CEO, IAIS Malaysia.

ISMAWI BIN ZEN is currently a senior professor at Kulliyyah of Architecture and Environmental Design (KAED), International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), Kuala Lumpur specializing in Islamic Built Environment and teaching Landscape Resource Planning. A former Dean and Deputy Rector at IIUM he is also a director of KAED Universal Design Unit (KUDU). One major result of his research is the promulgation and eventual adoption by the Malaysian Government of ‘Total Planning Doctrine’ where Islamic values and doctrine are interwoven in the new urban planning system of Malaysia. He has published extensively in books and journals. Among his works are the constructions of campuses for Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) and International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), The National Car Complex, and the new National Palace, Kuala Lumpur. He is also a member of International Panel for the Expansion of Masjid al-Haram, Makkah.
